ETL Agency Migration
ETL Agency Migration is a new and separate capability, leveraging ETL to migrate agency objects. It exists for a single purpose: to build the Agency Data Model. It migrates Investment Managers, Underlying Principals, Managed Relationships and Managed Products, and constructs the relationships between them automatically.
ETL Agency Migration brings agency migration into the same self-service, preview-and-validate experience clients already use for standard ETL. It complements standard ETL rather than replacing it — where an Investment Manager or Underlying Principal is also a client, its full client record is still migrated through a standard ETL project.
This release enables you to:
- Create a dedicated ETL Agency Migration project, managed separately from standard ETL so that agency data types are never mixed into a client migration and each project validates against the policy appropriate to it.
- Migrate each participant in the Agency Data Model as its own data type — Investment Manager, Underlying Principal, Managed Relationship and Managed Product — rather than loading them all as generic Company records.
- Supply your agency combinations through the Agency Associations step, a structured input matrix identifying the Investment Manager, Underlying Principal, Managed Relationship and Managed Product on each row.
- Have the Agency Data Model built for you — six associations are created for every Agency Associations row, with no need to define relationship types or relationship properties yourself.
- Let the system create Managed Relationships automatically for each unique Investment Manager and Underlying Principal pairing, reusing any that already exist, or supply your own named Managed Relationships with full policy data.
- Verify the integrity of the whole model before loading, using the new Agency Validation step — resolving identifiers against existing verified records and detecting unresolved references, orphaned entities, Managed Relationship conflicts and Managed Product ownership conflicts.
- Work through the familiar ETL steps for every data type — Select Data Source, Filter Data, Map System Fields, Map Policy Fields, Map Lookups, Data Groups, Preview and Validation.
- Use the existing ETL Validation, Cross-Validation and Reconciliation reports, notifications and Post Load Actions throughout, with no new report types or notification templates to learn.
Access is controlled by the ETL Agency Migration Administrator permission, which is fully separate from the standard ETL permission.
