External Data: D&B Enhanced Mappings

Several new fields and behaviours are now available in the Dun & Bradstreet integration, gated behind the DnbEnhancedMappingsEnabled feature flag. This release adds new company and related party fields to the D&B mapping schema, improves ownership data transparency, and makes the integration more resilient when D&B returns partial responses.

All changes described below are gated behind the DnbEnhancedMappingsEnabled feature flag. When the flag is off, the adapter behaves exactly as before.

New fields available in the mapping tool:

  • Legal Form (LegalForm) — D&B legal form description for the organisation, now mapped as a data group with sub-fields including description, D&B code, start date, and registration location region. Previously ignored.
  • Duns Control Status (DunsControlStatus) — D&B operating status (e.g. "Active", "Out of Business") and sub-status from the DunsControlStatus block.
  • NACE Rev 2 Code (NaceRev2Code) and NACE Rev 2 Description (NaceRev2Description) — NACE Revision 2 industry classification code and plain-text description. The code field uses the NaceRev2Codes lookup, which must be mapped in the Mapping Tool.
  • Control Ownership Type (ControlOwnershipType) — Available across Entity Data, Company Related Parties, and Individual Related Parties. Uses the ControlOwnershipTypes lookup.
  • Applied Control Type Description (AppliedControlTypeDescription) — Surfaces how D&B calculated the ownership percentage for a related party: either Legal Distribution (a verified legal ownership figure) or Worst Case Distribution (a D&B estimate where the true figure was undisclosed). Available in both Company and Individual Related Parties.
  • Partial Birth Date (PartialBirthDate) — Available in Individual Related Parties. Populated when D&B returns a partial date of birth (year only, or year and month). Mutually exclusive with the existing BirthDate field.
  • DUNS number (Duns) — Now available as a mappable field in Company Related Parties.

Ownership percentage display:

Where D&B returns an ownership percentage of 0%, this value is displayed as blank in Fenergo SaaS rather than as 0%. D&B uses 0% to indicate that the true ownership percentage is unknown, not to represent a genuine zero ownership interest.

Improved handling of partial D&B responses:

The integration now handles two edge-case scenarios gracefully rather than treating them as retrieval failures: partial dataset responses (HTTP 206) are processed as valid profiles, and entities where D&B returns no role data are resolved successfully.
